We have a group of Houston friends who are all going to be in Frisco for a wedding this weekend. The guys want to golf the morning of the wedding, but none of us know anything about courses in the area. Anyone have any recs? Would like to not pay a crazy amount if possible.

Old American and the Tribute are fine courses. They're next to one another.

Which area of San Fran will you be in? If you're trying to play the morning of the wedding you'd probably want something in decent proximity.

Yes, Frisco TX

Old American and tribute are legit. Westridge is a bit cheaper and close. Don't go to plantation.

Trails and lakes are both fun but I haven't been in awhile.

I really like Ridgeview in north Plano too

Trails, talk to Ryan... Just tell him the Aggie on the first hole sent you.

I worked at Frisco lakes in college it's a great track..... But that was 10 years ago

I play weekends too.

I don't tend to play before about 930 on sat/sun tho

No kids. Work from home writing iPhone apps and other software for a major bank.

Member at Old American here and the course just recently recovered from flooding so some of the bunkers may still be being worked on other than that the course looks great come on out

The Tribute is my favorite, and Frisco Lakes is quality. Not a fan of Trails of Frisco, nothing notable about it other than a couple of dumbass holes.

So we just got done playing Trails. Holy hell.. not a single hole without hazard or out of bounds on both sides. Fairways were stiff and dry, not much grass. Greens were actually decent. Sand was trash. Overall decently fun round. Not sure I'd play the course again. Built to be challenging to short hitters. It's brutal for medium long hitters like me. Had to take 4 iron on 4 holes off the tee. Lots of dog legs. I nutted a 4 iron on 17 and ended up in the first hazard. When the fairways are hard and fast, there's nowhere to play on that hole unless you take a 6 iron off the tee.
