I am definitely in my infancy stages of golf, started playing a year ago. My friends seem to have shafts longer and harder than mine but they've all been playing for a while.

They seem to disdain anything graphite but I've been reading that it's okay to forgoe steel for something a little more flexible (he'll even tiger did it.)

Is steel the way to go or my friends just stuck in their ways?

At first I thought 100% troll, then I wasn't totally sure... I guess this is where someone makes a joke about you wanting to show off your shaft during your trip to Disney World?

I was hoping the humorous title would lead to more clicks and more helpful advice.

Since you mentioned Tiger, apparently the key is not to have them cut down the shaft. And make sure you keep the original headcover.
