For the amateur golfer, does 5 grams really make a difference?

Fitted my HS golfer for a driver yesterday. They put him in a Rouge with Evenflow X-Stiff 65 6.0. He only swung the 65g shaft. I can save 20% on that driver via E-bay, but will have to go with either 60 or 70g. So up or down, does 5g really make that big of a difference?

It probably does. But the 60 with properly placed tape could make it close.

Get the Evenflow X-Stiff 65 6.0.

Ask yourself if 20% is worth the piece of mind knowing you got him exactly what he was fitted for...as opposed to a different shaft.

Yes, it does. And I'm assuming you're not looking at the same shaft. Shaft profiles are all over the place, even in the same weight and stiffness. Buy what he was fitted for.

1) get what he was fitted for

2) be careful with ebay. Make sure reputable seller

This too. Lot of knockoffs floating around on eBay.

Look at it this way - compare that 20% to one green fee you'll pay without even thinking. I'm guessing not much different
