So I was reading an article about the hardest tee time in each state to get, and this place popped up for Texas- Wolf Point in Point Lavaca.

Well turns out it's for sale...

Looks pretty legit. Anybody played it?

I'm a member of a golf architecture website called golfclubatlas.com. This course is a favorite hidden gem of theirs. I've tried to get on it through some connections in Victoria, but have been unsuccessful. The website group had a get together there last year but I couldn't make it. I believe the rich guy who built it died.

Seems pretty cheap considering the quality of the course.

Something like that is my dream.

Wish I had the money.

Since I don't, I hope Mike Keiser (owner of Bandon Dunes) buys it.

Seemed pretty reasonable to me too....

The million dollar question is how much is costs to keep it in that condition.... I don't know how much that would be but I'm sure it's a lot... over seven figures I'm sure

I got to play it last October before they closed it down and put it on the real estate market. Very interesting course architecturally - very fun to play. The greens have SEVERE slopes and humps that make it maddening and fun ! The conditioning was pretty good for a private course - a little above your average muni.

I have driven by this course hundreds of times down 172 on the way to the in-laws bay house and never knew it existed. Anybody have any connections? I spend many summer days and nights in the area and would love to play it.

That could be a really cool weekend destination for a combination of golf, fish, and hunt.

I suspect some buyer is going to be extremely pleased with the opportunity.

The golf atlas article says less than $500k per year.

So I was trying to look the place up again and the link now goes to a ranch in Medina.

Did it get sold?

Edit: found it on another site. Lists it as "not active"
