I see a lot of pros wear the long pants/short socks combo. Feels weird to me when I've tried it. Maybe because I usually only wear long pants when it's chilly, so the longer socks feel better.

Have not yet tried the long socks/short pants combo.

Pros have to wear long pants during tournament play. When it's warm outside, the short socks allow some air in there to be cooler. When it's chilly outside, they too wear longer socks. The math isn't complicated.

I have to wear long pants to work. However, I usually do not wear socks with my Sperrys.

Just curious, does the collar on your polo shirt automatically flip up when you put on your topsiders or do you have to manually flip It?

I'm with you. Seems weird to me. I don't like wearing short socks with pants either. In cases where I'd need to wear pants while hot I'd wear dress socks because they are thin.

Seemed a little weird when I first started doing it, but it doesn't bother me anymore. I just gauge it all on temperature now. If it's one of those tweener days where it's chilly enough for pants but not all that cold, I'll sport the short socks. If it's just friggin cold, then I'll bust out the longer socks.

Yeah, it doesn't bother me what other guys wear. Probably just some weird OCD thing I have about skin showing above socks when I'm wearing long pants.

Where else can I talk about this except on an anonymous message board? Certainly don't want to expose this trivial weirdness to my actual flesh-and-blood friends. (Although I'm sure they suspect anyway.)
