For those interested, the 2017 Rudy's I-35 Cup event is next weekend at Comanche Trace in Kerrville. It is a two part event - The Rivalry Before the Match (a 3-man scramble team charity fundraising event) and the Rudy's Cup (a Ryder Cup style event with the top amateurs from Austin competing against the top amateurs from San Antonio).

The Rivalry is Friday, October 20th. Both Austin and San Antonio will have a number of 3-person teams going head to head against each other. Each match is worth a point, and the city with the most points is the Rivalry champion. If you have a business or clients from both cities, it's a good way to get a team representing each city to go at it in a friendly competition to raise money for various charities. There is a dinner reception Friday evening and the teams are introduced and Saturday morning foursomes pairings are announced for the Rudy's Cup.

The Rudy's Cup is Saturday and Sunday, October 21-22. Morning foursomes, afternoon four-ball and then Sunday singles matches.

To keep things Aggie related, San Antonio announced as one of their assistant captains this year is former A&M and 2-time All-American Anthony Rodriguez ('91-'95). Then myself - a dad with a mortgage, wife and kids, will be playing on the Austin team.
