Anybody know his status on Tour? Is he exempt for next year? He's currently on the bubble for the playoffs at #128.

GPA Tour radio said a couple of weeks ago he gets some extra starts due to his wife's condition. Dont know how much he has to make to retain status though.

He is at 128 right now on points list. this is the last event of the regular season. He needs to get inside the 125 for full exempt status for next season.

I think he gets 5 more extra full exempt starts

If he stays between 126-200, Palmer goes to the Web.com Tour Finals, where 50 cards are awarded.

I have no inside knowledge, so this is just a guess.

- Shift in life priorities (wife had cancer)
- He's forty years old
- Golf is a b##ch

His dad was also killed in car wreck about the same time. They were real close.

Damn...I had no idea his wife had cancer. That makes a lot more sense though.

I think she's better now. Not sure if she's cancer free or in remission or what but IIRC she won the fight.

He better get it going quickly. These guys are lighting this course up and Palmer is +1 through 9.

Even if he misses the top 125 he'll have 5 extra events to earn enough money to stay on tour. That said it would help if he just makes the top 125 to secure the entire year. Hope he does well.

He lost his putting stroke, that's what happened. This was the best ball striking year of his career, but he had literally the worst season of any player on Tour (maybe save for a couple, I haven't looked lately) with regard to putting. Really pulling for him to figure it out on the greens because from tee to green, he is good enough to be winning tournaments.

I made a thread about it a few weeks ago, with his putting stats.

Ryan missed the cut. He's going to have some grinding to do. Although understandable it's hard to imagine his fall. He was lighting it up two years ago.
