That ball in the drink cost Kevin Kisner about $400k. Could have taken home $700k for par and a 4-way tie for 2nd; instead, double-bogey and 7th is a check for just over $300k.

That's usually what I find the most fascinating -> how much $$$ 1-2 shots difference can make to those top 10 paychecks. Last year, the 125th player on the money list made $768M to keep his card. So for a hanger-on type player, it's amazing to me how 1-2 strokes in one of his better/best tournament showings could make the entire difference between being firmly qualified for next year vs. losing their card.

Those payouts show why Kuchar is so impressive with his backdoor top 10s.

Scoring average of 3/4 of a single stroke can be the difference of 50 spots sometimes....one lip out or bad bounce a round on average can mean u can make enough to live on golf winnings or not

M = thousands in the finance world. MM= millions

I was using k and then fell back into my finance ways.

I did not know that 1 M meant thousands.... Thought it was K. You learn something new every day

A lot don't. That's actually why I was using K initially because it's what most non-finance folks get, but I slipped later because M/MM is the job habit.

In 1934, Paul Runyan won 7 times and a total of $6,767. No Ks or Ms needed.
