Not sure if there's been a topic started on this... Guy was 1 leg shy of hitting a 4-man parlay for selecting the 4 major winners this year. Just needed Rickie to win the British. $2 bet to win $2 million. Ouch...

Eh - he lost the third leg. The fourth was that much more irrelevant.

Now had he won the first three, that would be interesting,

Exactly. It's a non-story.

I understand how a parlay works...

Just saying it has to be salt in the wound knowing you had the fourth leg right. If Rickie had won the British, he could've assured himself a win by betting on everyone besides JT at the PGA.

he lost the moment he placed the bet. He chose Rickie Fowler to win a major.

I read about this guy after the US Open. Crazy pick in my mind was Koepka. To have a chance like that is nuts.

What about the guy who placed a bet on Spieth for the Open Championship and the book gave him a ticket for Dustin Johnson instead?

One time I walked away from the sportsbook without looking at my ticket. When I went to collect my winnings, they told me it wasn't a winner. The guy who took my bet, put me on the wrong side of the game. Now I don't leave without verifying my bets are correct.

And if he didn't pick Sergio this never even gets started...

Man, hate to say it, and it goes without saying, but that's your own fault. Most books will show you the ticket before you hand them the $.

I know it's my fault. It was a good life lesson and I always check them now.
