Have any of you ever played this format? I'm playing in a tournament at my club this Saturday and we pick a pro Friday night after the cut from the Colonial.

What would be your strategy, wait and see who's hot? Go with a safe pick? Look at 3rd round scoring average?
The 5 I'm looking at in the field are;
Speith, Snedeker, Garcia, Horschel, McGirt, and Palmer

Any thoughts here?

So does the pro's score count as if they were playing on your team?

Yes, his score and my scored combined.

I would just use an expert's pick from one of the various fantasy golf blogs around.

They'll take past history and current form into account along with how the pro's game fits that course.

I would stay away from Palmer. He's too much like our football team - start strong but fade late.

It's his home course and he almost won last year.

I'd check out Fried Egg - they usually have pretty accurate picks (besides last week...).

I ended up picking Sergio, really thought his 3rd round average would carry me. Was really close to picking Webb.
