Looking for your best recommendations for public courses near Los Angeles, Oxford, and Gainesville.

We will be driving to Oxford so a course along the way would be fine if not close to Oxford.

Don't really mind what it cost, we are willing to pay for a nice experience.

There was a really long thread about this earlier this year. Depends on where you are staying, if you will have a car, and what you are willing to spend.

Rustic Canyon - always gets great reviews and is affordable. I think its good for public LA course
Industry Hills - gets lots of traffic, is slower POP, but really good courses and affordable
Trump LA - one of my favorite all-time tracks....great condition always, really great food.....ocean views on every single hole. Pricey but a course you will never forget.
Sandpiper (in Santa barbara) - if you have transportation and time, drive up to SB and play this course. Stunning views, difficult, affordable compared to other tracks of this caliber.

If open, check out the Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena. Surrounds the Rose Bowl, and open for tailgating on gameday.
