Finally got to check out the new Fazio design at River Oaks this week. We played back tees on the outward 9 and moved up one on the inward 9 for about 6700 yards. Really like the overall feel and playability of the course. The par 3's played long: 4i, 7i, 5i and 4i. My 4i is a 210 club. Played the par 3's in +5 and shot 38-43 for 81. Would play again. Anyone know what strain of turf is on the greens? Even the caddie was unsure.

glad you enjoyed it. smart playing the one ups on the back, as I believe it plays much longer and 3-4 shots more difficult than the front. most of Fazio's redesign was on the back. eliminated 3 holes and built 3 brand new holes. if i'm not mistaken, the greens are champion bermuda.

I'm in. I'm a 4 also. Have a guy that is Lochinvar/WP (non Aggie) and also have a BlueJack guy.
