OK people. Looks like there is plenty of interest.

This is the first year for this so we're going to keep it simple.

We are going to do it in college station. We're going to do a one day tourney. 18 in the morning with more serious play, and 18 in the afternoon with a scramble or something fun.

Now for the particulars. Post your handicap, name, where you hail from, and class year. Also include whether you'd prefer spring or during bye week in the fall.

Here is a format idea.

How about a 2 man scramble with a blind draw.
Here is how it works
2 man scramble (simple, everyone knows this format)
Blind (best ball) draw. At the end of the round, each member from a team draws another team and those scorecards and then best balled!
Here is the caveat! All eagles and birdies count, meaning, if you (draw team) eagles or birdies the hole as you both count. On the flip side if both teams bogey the same hole only 1 bogey counts.

This way the scores will be honest, prizes can be given to low 2 man teams (gross and net) as well as low 4 man groups (gross and net)

I played in this format a couple years back and it was a blast.
Pace of play was also fast.

And, not to be a dick, but this needs to be a true tournament with a real winner, not some crazy beer drinking or fun format. Preferably broken down by flights with a net champ for each flight and an overall gross champ. I just wouldn't have any interest in some team format or scramble or anything like that.

Now, you can have a best ball team game played inside of that.

Thoughts on including my wife? She didn't go to A&M but bleeds Maroon and has been a football season ticket holder for several years so in my eyes shes an Aggie.

She's a single digit handicap.

I also am in charge of our local Men's Golf Association and have a few other Aggies I may try to get to join in.
