The loss of BYU is a blow to the West Coast Conference. I can see Gonzaga feeling like they need to do something to get a reasonable strength of schedule for basketball. The problem is there is no good way to get to Spokane from most of the Big 12. The Pac 12 makes more sense, but I don't know if the Pac 12 will take a Catholic university and a school that does not play football.

Well, The Twelve is "slang" or "hip" for the BigXII Conference. And though "The Twelve" is associated with the Seattle Seahawks, Gonzaga is located in Spokane, which brings in that state of Washington money.
