I've shared this many times on the General and H&F board. I'm an alcoholic in my 31st year of recovery. Sobriety date 2.26.91. if what you say is true, and I have no reason to doubt you, this is not going to end well for the man. The vast majority of sip fans will never understand why he would rather have the shot of scotch than be the head football coach at t.u. Do I hope he turns his life around and leads the sips to glory, no, but I do hope he finds the help he needs. On a personal note, AA teaches that when anyone reaches out for help, I am responsible. I can't help but wonder what I would do if he showed up at my home group.

I don't like tu and anything about them but I can only imagine what that alcohol battle is like and wish him well with said battle. The boyfriend of a friend of mine (phd, and wealthy with his own medical practice) got into meth and other opioids and he's spent the last two years homeless and bouncing back and forth between the Houston, SA and New Braunfels jails. Lost his practice, home and everything he worked for.

It's been well documented that he is drinking in Austin
And he appeared hammered on the sideline of the Allen game
Pointing that out is not evil. It's reality

Rumors started by sips already looking for a new HC or legit?

Not arguing, but curious. What does "well documented" mean?
- TexAgs rumors
- Fat Ketch or Anwar rumors
- on the news or in the papers
- friend of a friend
-other
Usually, when I think of "well documented, there is something you can read or hear via a media source.

Do you think alcohol is similar or different to say cocaine or heroine in terms of addiction? There was an expert on Joe Rogan yesterday talking about the subject but I only got to listen to a portion of the show so far.

All addictions are very similar in neural terms. Drugs can be especially hard because your body can become physically dependent in some ways, but once you form habits and addictions for things like alcohol, sex, food, tobacco, or even benign things like brushing your teeth or coffee, they're hardwired into your brain forever. The best you can do is substitute something in.
Food, sex, pornography, and other habits do not alter your biology/physiology to where your body requires the substance/behavior to survive (with regards to food your body needing high salt, sugar, fat etc. without which you go into a dangerous withdrawal).ABATTBQ11 said:Madman said:

Conduct that was once attributed to the devil will be attributed by successive generations to a deficient or excessive phrenological bump, to an unresolved Oedipus complex, to bad conditioning, to faulty brain chemistry, to unfortunate genes, or to a part of the brain that fails to light up on fMRI scans when appropriately provoked. The illusion of understanding is like the grin of the Cheshire Cat: it is what remains when all else has disappeared.
