Mackovic won conference championships including the last SWC one. Not the best, not the worse. His offenses were entertaining. Performing like Mackovic would make Sark better than both Herman and Strong. Obviously, we hope for a lot more.

Too many unknowns. I don't get the rush to bash Sark at Texas other than this is a rivalry board. Oh yeah, never mind.

Discussing the guys actual coaching is now bashing. Why should I expect any sip on her to be honest, oh yeah it's the rivalries board.

Yeah, you're right. I guess I need to find another board to talk football. Congrats on the Orange Bowl win.

Sark was only 46-35 because he was hammered all the time.

Or,

Sark still managed to go 46-35 while being hammered all the time.

Some claim Mackovic's problem was he did not fit sip personality, example he would rather have a chilled wine wine vs a cold longneck.
That is what I see with Herman there also seems to be other issues.

Uh, wine coolers are the essence of sip personality

He's right that he would take this. Because he has no choice.

Try SurlyHorns, lots of sunshine there. You will fit right in.

Mackovic's greatest contribution to the teasippers was recruiting Ricky Williams.

His second greatest contribution was the 66-3 loss to UCLA

But the 66-3 loss was caused by Mackovic being in a monthlong "fog" after getting concussed on the sideline. Mac was known as an expert coinnosseur of wine, which spirit is Sark an expert in?

Watching those UCLA highlights was interesting. Those two teams were fairly comparable but the turnovers and pitiful execution led to 66-3. Anyone remember who #10 was for the sips? Other than the carelessness he looked like a good QB. I don't think he ever saw the field again though.

Here here, you just do not go in to the LA Coliseum and expect to come out with a victory.

I was there for that game. My dad was so pumped because of the 96 Big 12 championship. We drove down for the game, got there an hour early, and stayed for the entire thing. UCLA did all of that scoring on less than 400 yards of total offense. The sips only punted 3 times all day. So it was a bunch of short fields for the bruins.

Hopes were still high at the end of the 1st quarter because it was only 10-0. Then then second quarter happened. BAM BAM BAM BAM 38-0 and the stands starting bleeding burnt orange out the exits

I still remember the cameras showing a mass exodus is the second half and Griese(?) saying everyone was headed for the phones to call the radio talk show. It was a stunning collapse.

Speaking of the radio call in shows. We were living in Austin at the time. Was a beautiful day and The Hubs was hanging out by the pool listening to the game on the radio while I was inside watching on TV. He'd run back in to see the replays often.

So shortly before the end of the game I joined him out by the pool to listen to the call ins. Ooooh were they mad!

All in all it was a glorious day as both the sips and then we got hammered, difference being we were giddy about it.

I stayed until the very end with my Aggie girlfriend (whom I later married) and sang the Eyes.

When Mackovic was at Illinois, I remember he led the Illini to the Sugar Bowl, but he also managed to lose to Northwestern, which at the time may have been the worst Power 5 team in the county. When he was hired at Texas I told my Horn fan buddies that get ready to start losing to Rice and TCU, which Mackovic managed to do. He also pulled out the win over Nebraska and Doctor Tom in the Big 12 Championship game and he got Ricky Williams to come to Austin.

I enjoyed seeing the Rout 66 game highlights.

That Nebraska game was a work of art. I'm embarrassed to admit I was all in on tu that day because I was sick of the arrogance of the north schools. I, along with Musberger, almost fell out of my chair on that 4th and inches call. For a fleeting moment I almost liked Mackivic.

Singing the Eyes of Texas does not make you a racist. Neither does supporting the Sully statue on A&M's campus.

Mackovic didn't single-handedly coach Bama to a NC, you big dummy.

Sips got their man like they always do.
