the sips are overrated, and can't develop talent.

Recruiting in college football is the foundation of every championship contender and a barrier for entrance for everyone else. Need proof? Every national title game participant since 2002 had at least one five-star on its roster.
Development, the process of turning talent into production, is what can close or extend the gap between those with and without recruiting riches.
As we exit the 2020 NFL Draft, this is an ideal time to examine development. 247Sports' annual list of 32 five-star recruits mirrors the first round of the NFL Draft, which makes the Top247 a great place to start. Top247 players are consider the best prospects in their class. Under the right circumstances health, a good work ethic, character and high-level coaching talents of that level generally thrive.

This is far from all-encompassing data set. Many schools have undergone coaching turnover since even the final class in this data pool, 2015, was inked. A guy like Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M isn't culpable for how a player the Aggies signed in 2011 turned out, but this window is necessary because it gives us complete data; redshirting members of the 2016 class still have another year in college. And it's interesting context. In the case of many a coaching transition a Hoke to a Harbaugh, a Strong to a Herman the predecessor's sins become the new man's burden.

The mental gymnastics required for 247 to call out sip coaching for not being able to develop players 247 overrated to cover for sip's bad recruiting is amazing.

Just more evidence of services over-inflating sip recruiting rankings. Their program is a house of cards and they will never be elite again.

Yeah well, this year's top 10 recruiting class for them is finally different than the past 15 years. They're just going to be young yet again.

Sips with basically a new staff and no spring football to work out the kinks. But they'll be fine, cuz Tom always has them ready for game 1, right?

Arkansas is rated better! If you're behind Arkansas in any football ranking over the last five years, you should disband the program

Lol as an Arkansas fan it's pretty depressing seeing us ahead of quite a few teams on these players drafted lists yet doing so much worse on the field than the teams behind us. Just some awful coaching these last 3 years.
