Well, let's see... Goliath was an oversized pagan blowhard, who despite being amazing in the eyes of his fans, was the consummate bad guy. He was also soundly defeated with ease. So yeah, the analogy is pretty accurate!

I think we're probably over analyzing things here... often the simplest answer is the correct one. Sips don't read much and are generally clueless... chances are he started the story, assumed the ending and stopped reading... he doesn't know how it ends.

They are more Scott Farkas than Goliath. Goliath was taken out by a long-shot. Farkas got his azz kicked toe-to-toe by a smaller but tougher kid.
