Bad hire.

He's probably a product of the talent advantage he had at LSU.

If so, I wonder why the Ags pursued him so hard so years ago to be Jimbo's defensive coordinator?

It also says Joe Brady went to Carolina to be Rhule's OC. That's two big hits to LSU's staff which has to help.

Because Sumlin couldn't evaluate talent for *****

Considering he had an equally great defense at Wisconsin (whose recruiting classes are in the 30-40s), I don't think talent was the only reason for his success.

Pretty sure we made the right hire. Love seeing the BDF straining their budgets.

I bet he has some good ideas on how to stop Big 12 offenses. Whether the Baylor players can execute them is another question.

Sips beat the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge, and get shut out by Baylor in Austin

If he's successful, he leaves. Baylor is a stepping stone program.

Don't get used to it. I was interested because it might weaken LSU a little both in recruiting and on the field next year when both our teams have to play them.

Edit: this was supposed to be a reply to Puddy . A Melrose salad, a rack of lamb and half a bottle of merlot and I can't even hit a spot with my finger. Getting old sucks.

Love that Rhule has single-handily gutted LSU's staff, leaving Cookie Monster all alone. But this feels a little like a Kevin Steele redux.

He's a fantastic coordinator.

Head coach? I doubt it.

Poor idiot Big Dumpster Fire worshiper.

You get all snarky on an this message board because of the massive real estate you let daddy A&M have rent-free and can't even tell the difference between a head coach's job duties and coordinator's job duties.

Baylor is so insignificant to me now, I've lost track of who their AD is and had to look it up--Mack Rhoades. If he's hands-on, and gives Aranda a lay of the land, so to speak, Aranda should be fine transitioning to HC.

A big reason Charlie Strong was such a colossal failure at sip was because he had a very crappy and largely inexperienced AD, Steve Patterson who just threw him in the deep end of the pool without supervision and guidance. Right off the bat, Strong bungled his staffing hires and walked right into a lawsuit from Okie Light as a result.

At Louisville, Strong had Jurich to lead him around by the nose to at least get his staffing done. In fact, Jurich had to bend over with a tube of K-Y on his back to the NCAA to get one of the recruiters/coaches with a show cause to be hired.

Baylor is a good starting place for a newbie HC to get their feet wet, if he gets a good assist from Rhoades.

Sips have to be puckering so bad.
They get two coaching refugees for OC and DC
Baylor picks up a coach from the team that had the best season ever in the history of college football.

Yep, that plan to make sure Texas had the easiest path to the championship game is working just as Deloss Dodds planned.

If they are smart, they should be. So should the Sooners and Riley. If anyone has seen close up how to stop a very productive offense, it is Aranda watching Brady's schemes and Burrow's execution of it.

But we have to wait and see who Aranda gets as his OC.
