Who cares if it is at the big Houston venue. You split ticket sales, and gave up home gate and everything that goes with that for freaking rice?
Do Houston recruits travel via horse and buggy? They can't get a ride to Austin?coolerguy12 said:

Were current recruits even alive then?

They had to play there then. Both schools were part of the SWC.95_Aggie said:
Texas has played at Rice lots of times. Even lost there under Mac II.
Ok, slight exaggeration. But, that was a pretty long time ago.BohunkAg said:Uh, it was Johnny's freshman year, so yes.jblaschke said:BohunkAg said:

I have no issue with Texas playing Rice in Houston. It's crucial to recruit there and Texas has a large alumni base there.

In his defense, Rice is nearly indistinguishable from BDF teams.91AggieLawyer said:Your Friend said:coolerguy12 said:

Other than Texas Bowl games, which they didn't schedule, and one B12 Champ. game, they've played in Houston (all against Rice) 3 times: 2010, 2006, and 2003, in the last 2 decades. Before that it was 1997 and then the SWC days. So by "have been scheduling" did you really mean 5 times in 23 years?

It's a tradition game. You guys used to have traditions and then you became just another real and real rich state university
