If Morris can get us consistently around 20th every year instead of yo-yoing back and forth every year then we'll be a lot better off. There really isn't a whole lot of difference between the 11th-25th ranked classes most years IMO.

Go ahead, make yourself feel good.

One of the few things Cowherd said that resonates:

2-3 extra high impact recruits/year * 4 years = the difference between a good team and a great team

Just having one Von Miller on the field is huge. Imagine having two guys of that caliber on the same team on the field at the same time.

Just one extra great player whose career overlaps another is more likely to have a multiplication effect than it is to have an addition type effect.

My point was different. Von was the most effective* defender in the country. Maybe 5% of 4*s reach that level.

The difference is between a team with good players throughout vs one with some holes.

Von was the inverse-so good that he was able to offset holes. He turned a defense full of average players into a good defense in 2010. He turned a bad defense in 2009 into an average one.



*I realize this is slightly unfair. Edge Rushers are just able to effect the game more than any other[edit to add] DEFENSIVE player. It does not change the fact that Von had more impact on games.
