The things people will do for a chance to say,
"My kid goes to The University of Texas"
Did your parents ever get to say that?
I'm a Texas EX and a Longhorn Foundation member.
I don't think you fully appreciate how hard it has become to get your kids into The University.
That's the bed that horns have made and now they have to lie in that bed. Horns, IMO, need to think about what they really want and what value they provide.
They currently present themselves as elite. I've posted here (TexAgs) before how college admissions at horny-school is a BUSINESS (relayed to me by a former UT admissions employee). Sips like to present themselves as a select university and, among other things, encourage kids to apply, just so that they can reject them, in order to improve their rejection rate...making them *seem* elite.
Misguided, IMO, because it encourages some people to gain acceptance via hidden pathways and fraud.
ETA: Because of your cruddy spelling/grammar over the years, I highly doubt that you graduated and that you're a Longhorn Foundation member, whatever that is. If you're indeed a graduate and a member of that "elite" organization, then that's an embarrassment and an indictment of UT education.
