Missed a 4 footer for a 91.

He had the right idea to hit it in the middle of the green and not try to get it too close.

Of course, when I golf, I have a lot of the right ideas too.

When I saw a close up of one of the greens, it looked like a shaved mish-mash of poana,Bermuda, chia, and Johnson grass. The only ones I've seen uglier were on Bellville Golf & Recreation Club at the end of August.

That place is awful.
A guy i worked with took me there when we moved to McGregor. The sand traps were dirt and the grass was around in places.

My Dad took me fishing at Battle Lake when I was very young. My main memory of it is a cottonmouth slithering into the water from the bank near our boat. Dad said, "We don't keep those." I had a few dreams about it.

I recommend the mute button for 99% of sports programs including golf. I turn the radio on for Astros game because the announcers actually talk about the game, and it is five to ten seconds ahead of the TV, so I can read and if something happens, look up and see it.

The St. Augustine has invaded some of the fairways at Bellville, but as of when I quit playing there a few years ago it hadn't made it onto the greens. Putting on St. Augustine sounds like as much fun as brain cancer.

I think Mickelson, Spieth and McElroy would agree that Shinnecock Hills could be improved by an encounter with a few hundred kilos of TNT and three weeks with a D-8 dozer.

I played the Sinton course many years ago and we came across an alligator which scared the crap out of our foursome.

Justin Thomas is now on the course, and, as usual he thinks he's competing in the Bad Pants Open. I used to think he was colorblind and his Mama dressed him funny, but then I heard he was from Alabama. Those pink pants are probably formal attire among the snaggle-toothed cretins of that semi-literate state. The navy shirt and cap don't complement them well however.

Fox coverage of any and all sports suck.

US Open should be on NBC.

14 foot Lone Star with a 1/5th HP Evinrude motor. We rented the boat but owned the motor.

WHO in hell is Tommy effing Fleetwood, how did he shoot a 63 on that goat ranch (guess: dumb, f***ing luck), and is he going to be allowed to win the UNITED STATES Open? Surely they'll plow that mess under after this. I can't imagine a club membership that would want to play that track.

Edit: I was right about the limey's DFL. I figured he made a mile of putts, and I was wrong. It was two miles.

The USGA watered the hell out of it last night. And they admitted it was set up too hard. Hopefully they learn from it.

Winner finished right at par. Sounds like USGA did a perfect jib all weekend

Thursday and Friday were fine. Saturday was unfair to the point of being ridiculous. Sunday was a makeup day for Saturday.

Back in high school, me and 2 guys played their. On one hole, I hit my shot right up to a mesquite tree. Went to go check it out and there was a 4-5 foot rattle snake just inches a way. needless to say I did a drop on that hole and moved on....
