Assuming his name has the obvious translation from Spanish to English, he'll fit right in.
I understand Dodds mistake...whenever I think of DeLoss I immediate think Loss.
I'm not exactly sure, but that seems like a very good hire. TCU athletics has been better that Texas's for awhile.

One quick note on the looming AD search: I was told by multiple sources this week that there's not much to report on this front going into the end of the year. Expectations remain that business will pick up on this front in the first quarter of 2018, but probably closer to the back end of the first quarter, rather than the front end. Per continued conversations with sources on the subject, recent successful experience as an actual athletic director in the college athletics realm is a key requirement for the position.

Herman on the clock? He will be easy to get rid of now. Funny that they weren't expected to make a hire until spring but less than a a week after the fisher hire they ramped up their timetable quite a bit!

I think Fisher is gaining steam on recruiting and if he flips the Houston Fast guys (Sterns & Green) and finishes with:
Waggle, O'Neal and one (or both) of the TEs visiting
Caden Sterns - S ( #37 Ntl, #3 in Tx '18, Tex commit)
Jalen Green - CB (#40 Ntl, #5 in Tx '18, Tex commit)
Jaylen Waddle - WR (#50 Ntl, #6 in Tx '18)
Panic will grow in Austin.
I think we'll have a minimum of 4 National game: Clemson, Alabama, Auburn and LSU. I believe Fisher will win 3 of the 4.

Del Conte is about the best hire they could make, actually. At least he's a professional AD (sorry Mack) and he's been very good at TCU in managing the transition to the Big XII.
Just hope for his sake he's seen the real books for the athletic department and not the cooked ones. I trust Perrin cleaned some up of that up from the Dodds/Patterson era.
Del Conte better hit the ground running because they are now five years behind schedule on the basketball facilities issue and the clock is running down on the medical school construction and demolition of the Erwin Center. Tick tock.
