Chimp is reporting over on sip247 that Todd Orlando interviewed w/SMU today. Chimp even reported a lot of SMU's feedback on what they thought of Orlando.

When asked about it by the AAS, Hotlips Herman said: nope, none of his staff would ever interview for another coaching job without clearing it with him first.

A head coach known for lying vs. a sip reporter known for being wrong. Dishonesty vs. Incompetence.

Is that the chimp "a&m's not going to the sec" Patterson? As long as tommiekins, chimp, ketch and Kirk B are in the same town you are going to have a festering soap opera.

Chimp is an SMU grad if I had to pick a side on this one I would choose him over Tommy Boy.

I believe you are thinking of Chimp "The Toupe" Brown.

Sorry for the mixup. The report is from our old pal Chip Toupee Patterson Brown.

He is getting flayed alive by his 247 tsip subscribers. If he is wrong on this story, lol.

But it will be even better if he got the story right. It's a win-win for us Ags either way.

Briefly heard Chip this morning. He's 100% committed to his story and sources.

Just like he did down in Houston: in less than one year in Austin, Tom Herman has achieved a reputation for being an arrogant, abrasive horse's butt.

Many sip players clearly do not like him.

So it wouldn't be much of a surprise if Todd Orlando interviewing for the SMU job without telling Herman is another sign of someone wanting out.

He certainly has a great track record with his sources.

https://247sports.com/college/texas/Article/Sources-Texas-Longhorns-defensive-coordinator-Todd-Orlando-interviews-with-SMU-111918470

Quote:

At the beginning of the week, the candidates who were expected to be interviewed by SMU athletic director Rick Hart included former Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin, TCU offensive coordinator Sonny Cumbie, North Texas head coach Seth Littrell, Tulane head coach Willie Fritz, Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables, Orlando, Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele and SMU interim coach Jeff Traylor, sources told Horns247.

According to sources, after Orlando's interview with SMU officials on Wednesday, Hart's focus narrowed to a defensive-minded head coach while possibly trying to keep Traylor to run the Mustangs' offense.

Traylor, an offensive assistant at Texas under Charlie Strong who then served as associate head coach/running backs coach under Morris, won three state titles at East Texas high school power Gilmer, where he ran a prolific power spread offense and then proved to be an ace recruiter at both UT and SMU.

Quote:

Orlando's interview was impressive enough that two sources close to the situation told Horns247.com Orlando might now be the frontrunner for the SMU job if Venables is reluctant to agree to the buyout.

This is stupid. You don't quote a source saying that someone else is not doing something
