This is just sad watching them get beat like this. I know the prop 48 days are long gone, but they're not even being competitive against good competition, and haven't in a long time.

They'll stay in the dumpster until they hit a homerun higher. Fortunately most coaches recognize how retarded the fanbase is.

Good again, someday? Well, 9-3 imo is good, so, yes.

But will they ever be great as in 14-1 or 15-0 ? Not likely. Recruiting is probably 60%-65% of the reason for success at the P4 level.

The corn people would need to strike gold with a Saban or Meyer type of head coach.

Lots of Texa, Cali, and Florida kids still dream of spending several years covered in snow.

The real question is, does the b10 have regrets taking them? They were good when they left the b12.

But think of the 1 million TV sets Nebraska has. That's like 1/5th of the city of Houston. That has to be worth something.

Agree with this exactly. Corn has the resources to keep a good coach if they ever find one but finding one is going to be tricky.

The loss of the partial qualifier though was a killer for them. Also, I think that they can't hide the terrible behavior that some of their best players displayed off the field in this day and age although Baylor has shown that to not entirely be the case.

Part of their problem is that they put themselves in no man lands conference. When 5 of your conference games are against northwestern, Iowa, Minnesota, Purdue and Illinois, there is not a lot of national visibility In those games.

Then you can't beat the only big time team in your division, (Wisconsin). Follow that up with getting bludgeoned by Ohio state,. There is not a lot of attraction for recruits outside of the state of Nebraska to go there, especially kids from the south. There are a whole lot better options.

ND went with the ACC and snubbed the big10 for a reason. Most of the matchups in the big10, especially the big10 west, are not that palatable for prospective recruits from the south. Realignment has not been kind to Nebraska football. Colorado is better off being in the pac12, because of recruiting ties to Southern California and Arizona, than Nebraska is in the big10. It has taken its toll.

And then they lost their AAU status shortly after joining the B10.

Nebraska saw the writing on the wall with the B12 (and their football program) and their AAU status and got out why the getting was good. Genius on their part. B10...not so genius.

OU nervously looks over their shoulder and knows that could be them if they ever lost their pipeline into Texas. One of the reasons they'll never go to the SEC (besides the fact we wouldn't let them) because they'd just be another Arkansas at that point.

I was a big fan of how Nebraska always touted their academic leaders on the field, knowing that at Nebraska you can flunk a class, take it over and your F magically goes away.

Nebraska is like Iowa. Not enough to recruit top level athletes needed to be a championship team but the right mix of seniors on both lines could get them back to 10 wins.

I think Frost gets a better offer and Bielema winds up at Nebraska.

OU will never lose their pipeline into Texas. They are as close to DFW as we are and considerably closer than Arkansas. More importantly sip won't let them lose that pipeline because sip needs that game. OU will always have at least one game in Texas every year. When Arkie left the SWC the conference successfully shut them out of Texas recruiting by not scheduling them but that won't happen if/when tu and OU are no longer in the same league. tu won't let go of that game.
