Even though the question is not directed at me, I'll say the Ags win this one easily. This team will pull together and play to their potential.

Man, after the UCLA game, all our players said they were 1) extremely pissed off and embarrassed by UCLA and 2) ready to take out their rage on Nichols. It was tied 14-14 in the 4th quarter. I'm starting to suspect that we ARE playing to our potential.

Put another way: last year, after Trevor Knight went down with an injury, A&M looked like complete dog crap; the two Miss schools, both of which were really bad, ran a train on us. That awful A&M team then proceeded to 11 or 12 starters, 7 or 8 of them to the NFL in one way or another. That's a lot of talent from a team that was merely mediocre to begin with. I suspect our first half against UCLA was a result of our defense playing a horrific OL plus our offense playing a UCLA defense that had ~8 new starters.

Texas might end up with a better record (probably 5-7 or 6-6 compared to A&M's 4-8 or 5-7), but that's solely due the laughable Big 12. Kansas, Iowa State, and Baylor are 3 of the worst programs in the NCAA, and Kliff hasn't fielded a defense in 4 tries. If you stumble back assward into 1 more W, you'll likely seize "bragging rights" over A&M.

Just looking at this from a neutral perspective, it's pretty incredible that Texas, a football crazy state of nearly 30 million, could easily fail to make its 2 flagship universities bowl eligible. I mean that defies explanation.

whatever you do, take the Cajuns in the second half. no matter what.

I would never actively pull for the ags to lose...but if that were to happen, this would be the least depressing time for that to be.
