I've been to about 30 home UT games mainly between 1997-2009 and about 50 A&M games between 2002-present and the sips have a problem with a small student section, pretentious fans and a poor home slate. The RRR got pretty loud some years but it was probably all the meth the okies brought in but I think if some of those games against OU had been played at home, DKR could have been rocking.
The most hyped sip home game I went to was 2006 Ohio State and it was pretty bleh so was the score though as tOSU never really showed much weakness. The 1998 game when Rocky broke the rushing record was loud for that moment but that was it. 2004 or 2005 OSU was pretty loud towards the end but that was after a huge comeback. '99 Nebraska was another game that kind of loud but not anything impressive
Compare it to 2002 A&M and OU or 2004 A&M and Tech or 2009 Nebraska where you had the scream in people's ears just for them to barely understand you.
In the end, it's more a cultural difference between fans as opposed to size or stadium dynamics or advertisements

Guess we shouldn't worry about things like players lounges and fancy weight rooms either since recruits only think about which school will be better for my NFL career. They would never consider things like having fun, fan support, relationships with coaches, or anything like that. 100% all business all the time.

The SEC became what it is today because of those fans paying their money. Case# 54,327: Saban didn't take the job at Bama because he was attracted to the number of NFL scouts around campus. The large facilities, coach salaries, fancy lockerrooms, off season programs (recruiting favors and money if you are into that sort of thing) are all paid for with $ from fans. Not the sort of fan that avoids attending games, or lacks enthusiasm. No, not every person who buys a ticket or screams is a BMD. But if rich alumni was all it took, SMU would be 'back'.

We have the biggest and loudest stadium in the SEC. We have the biggest profit in all of college sports. Therefore, we have the most NFL talent. What's Sumlin's problem? Why do we lose 5 games every year?
