Does that include the $100K+ each Big 12 member was going to get from ESPN for not expanding? SEC revenue was $40.4 million per member.AggieTFA06 said:

The Big 12 still lags well behind the SEC. Most will, of course. The SEC announced a revenue of $584.2 million for the 2015-2016 fiscal year, with each SEC member receiving a revenue share of $40.4 million. The SEC and Big 12 are the only conference revenue numbers currently on record for the 2015-2016 fiscal year, but expect the Big Ten to be a solid second in the pecking order, with the ACC likely to come in front of the Big 12 and the Pac-12 to be toward the bottom of the pack.

stupid sips don't realize how bad that is for their conference.redd38 said:
Good for them, only $12m per school behind SEC.

It doesn't, but we know that the LHN pays around $12 million a year. So Texas made just less $29M add the $12M from the LHN and you brought in $41M while all SEC members made $40.4M. No other Big 12 members are making what the SEC members are...OU, KU & WVU make less than $8M. By this time next year all SEC members will surpass what Texas brings in, so it appears that the SEC as a collective body with superior conference leadership made a great long term business decision.etexorange said:

I don't think you're being fair, that money is going to the Vince Young School of Financial Management & the Wonderlic Testing Center.HTownAg98 said:
You left out IMG's cut of the money, and that half of it goes to academics. The athletic department does not and will not ever see $15MM from the lhn.
How much tier 4 money is tu getting? Oh wait, never mind.etexorange said:

Miss. State and Vandy have a long way to go to bring in $190 million/year on a regular basis. So this is demonstrably wrong.Quote:
We'll see how this plays out next year and how long your ego allows you to accept the fact that Mississippi State & Vanderbilt make more money than the mighty Texas Longhorns as well as all the Big Ten members.

It appears OU is the more valuable member of the conference so yes you are riding coattails because even with all those high dollar coaches and 4 & 5 star players you have you haven't won anything in more than 10 years. Since that time Mississippi State has been to the CWS CG, the Women's final a New Years day Bowl and been #1 in the first ever CFB Playoff rankings...what has your team done in that time? The Texas logo & Walmart burnt orange garbage gives you money and we've seen exactly how you've spent it and what its done for you.etexorange said:Miss. There are things like branding (that big orange Longhorn head you have to look at every day you drive to work in Austin) and merchandising (those orange t-shirts) that separate the Mississippi States from the Texas Longhorns. We don't need to ride a coattail.

After next years conference payouts will Texas start to squirm? The SEC is locked in with ESPN for 20+ years as is the ACC so our revenues won't be going down. About the time the Big 12 GOR's expire the SEC will be at the table with CBS or some other entity that will be negotiating for its Tier 1 rights. ESPN pretty much gave the Big 12 the finger when the conference tried to back door them by adding G5 members. So, what does the Big 12's next deal look like? I suspect ESPN won't be at the table and unless FOX steps up and makes a play for a lot more money will Texas and OU stick around and make less money in the Big 12?
Enjoy your last few years with your conference mates like Baylor. A revamped SWC isn't going to bring in the money, ESPN & FOX overpaid the conference to keep it together until ESPN decides to **** can it. The SEC is not going to take you because we're all aware of the drama queen attitude and failing to realize there is something to being a team player. I foresee the B!G or PAC as your next home, going to the B1G I suspect you will have to buy in to the Big Ten network and unless you agree to sell off the LHN network the PAC won't be interested. We'll see how this plays out next year and how long your ego allows you to accept the fact that Mississippi State & Vanderbilt make more money than the mighty Texas Longhorns as well as all the Big Ten members. Maybe a 5 year buy in like WVU & TCU got will provide you with the humility that is long overdue...there will be no more Texas dictating to conference members or commissioners. I am curious as too how much A&M, Nebraska, Colorado & Missouri would have commanded if they had stayed in the Big 12 and been at the table for your next media deal?

We have the worst types of chumps. Low-profile schools with no fan/media base but great teams that can beat you is not what you want for chumps. What you want for chumps are big institutions with lots of media, lots of fans, but weak teams that you can beat.
Wow. I read that and had to read it again and again. I know that is what the sips think but I have never read that in print.goodAg80 said:Quote:

Comment from Orange Bloods talking about who to have in your conference.
Inflation and the old TV deals were just that bad. Dodds ran the Big XII, not Beebe. And as the LHN deal shows, Dodds can easily get rick-rolled and sell the Tier III rights for way under market value and blow up the conference in the process.33 said:

As for the revenue shares for each Big 12 program, the numbers ranged from $28 million to West Virginia to $28.9 million for Oklahoma. This marked the first time West Virginia and TCU were eligible to receive their full conference revenue shares as Big 12 members.
