A&M wouldn't have hired away someone like Jon Chavis from LSU if we were still in the big 12. Much like how you guys weren't able to pull Aranda away from LSU. Recruiting? Top 15 classes were 'good' in the big 12, but now they're viewed as 'meh' for A&M in the SEC.

One of the dumbest things I've ever read on this forum.

Moving to the SEC has made the A&M job a more desirable and more prestigious one. I know you big 12 goobers are always looking for 'the easiest path', but good coaches don't think that way. Competitive coaches that want to be the best fully embrace competing with the best. Moving forward, A&M is going to be an even more desirable destination for potential coaches than it was the SWC and big 12.

Correction. Texas used to be a top 3 job (in the minds of the whorns). Until the country realized that Bevo was 1) not the only steer on the sidelines, and 2) Bevo was the most intelligent member of the Athletic Department, and 3) the flatulence erupting from Bevo's south end (when facing north) was his true opinion of TU.

Depends on how you define "top 3". Best facilities? Not even close. Biggest fan base? Not bad but more like top 20. Best fan base? Check out those empty seats, win or lose. Easy to recruit? Used to be, still has some appeal but again top 20 not top 3. Championship legacy? Perhaps, although more like top 5-7. Still I'll give you that. Most money? Nope. Competitive but not awe inspiring. Best academics? Good rankings, but who cares since this is football?

Just like most of the sip fans who believe Austin is the ultimate destination it was in the 70s and 80s - before it became overcrowded, overpriced, and overliberal - tu may have been, even probably was, top 3, perhaps even top 1 back then.
