This thread never fails to deliver!
Two things:
Texas was never under consideration for admission to the SEC. Never.
After the abortive effort by Deloss in the late 80's, the SEC was wary of any overtures from Texas. When Arkansas joined, Frank Broyles eviscerated Texas and Deloss. Broyles neutered Texas.
Second, when A&M was in the final stages of being admitted to the SEC, Deloss contacted Junction to see how far the SEC had progressed with the SEC Network, terms, carriages, details....Junction blistered the wallpaper in his response to Deloss.
The SEC remembers.
Texas will never have the votes, period
Alabama says no.
Arkansas, Missouri, and Texas A&M obviously say no.
The Mississippi schools hate Texas.
LSU doesn't want another school to poach their recruits, especially Texas.
The rest don't want expansion.
Texas ****ed themselves.
