Is anyone currently doing home equity loans? Id like to access some of equity in my current home to put towards the down payment of a construction loan for our future home. When we finalize the construction of the new house Id use the proceeds from selling the old home to pay off the home equity loan. The build process should take about 9 months. Is this doable and assuming excellent credit, what types of rates should I expect? What does it cost to close this type of loan?

Thanks!

If you're in Texas I'd like to talk to you. Email on profile. If the loan amount is $250K or less there are typically no closing costs and you pay interest only.

I recently got one at 3.75% with Bank of Texas. 0 origination fees.
