We are getting our single story house in Friendswood ready to put on the market in the next month or two and learned our next door neighbor has interest in getting out of his two story into a one story in the neighborhood. Mentioned it to him this week when I saw him outside and he said to let him know.

If we can agree on a price what is the recommended level of real estate agent involvement in this situation? Think we could handle everything OK with personal attorneys and the title company?

Go to your local title company and get a "For Sale By Owner" kit,

Haven't found a title company that didn't have them or something similar.
A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.

Should be fine with him moving to a different layout of the floor plan. Start with this...

Pretty easy to negotiate a legal contract with that document. As said, bring in title early to advise.
