I don't know anything about that specific area (other than general knowledge of Alvin)...but that could be a really cool office/business or something. Maybe even divide into a couple of homes/apartments.

Are they really marketing that as a single family home? Stalls in the bathroom, security boxes. I'd venture to say that there was a poorly located museum/high end jewelry store.

Did you notice the picture of what I think was the turret with what looked like a spinning wheel? The pic is kind of blurry, so it's hard to tell, but it looks like Sleeping Beauty might live there.

I thought it was weird even for a beach rental...the storefront facade, the cash register in the kitchen, the cinder block walls, and the two discount home improvement store single vanities butted up against each other in the master bath. They couldn't at least spring for a double vanity?

In full disclosure, my experience with Galveston beach rentals is non-existent, so I wouldn't know if this is normal or not.

What kind of house doesn't have a dozen barstools and cash register in the kitchen, exit signage, and a wedding cake and bicycle in the dining room? If that's strange I don't want to know what normal is.

A quick HAR search tells you that there are much nicer (i.e., move-in ready) homes in that zip code for about the same price per square foot. This isn't even a "deal"! I would ask if buyers are really that dumb, but I already know the answer.

More pictures of the seller's pottery barn stuff than the actual house. Yep, that'll sell.

I keep trolling local listings but it's nothing but a bunch of flips that look like Chip and Joanna barfed all over the place, when the flip is even actually completed when they come by to take pictures.

I looked at the pictures a second time and it really looks like the realtor has no clue how to work a camera or what to take pictures of. They're seriously bad. There is a lot of WTF were they thinking when they built the place going on too, like the bright brass hardware and hollow core doors on a house that's supposed to be custom.

The sale has to be from people who are downsizing. It's full of stuff my mom liked in the late '90s/early 2000s and sure enough... house built in 2003.

Sometimes people really do it to themselves. If that disaster wasn't there and the rest of the place wasn't obviously fake rustic the house would probably sell fast. The funny thing is it looks completely removable to me. None of the landscape border rocks are mortared, and the black plastic liner is held in place with rocks. Pull the thing out and remove the fake ivy while you're at it.
