She's 60 and made $2.505 million last year plus escalators going up to $3.362 million in 2028-2029. She is that good as a head coach and better than any we have had. So making fun of her looks must feel easy because you're so jealous of her success?!?

Jealous? LOL.
I don't care how much money she makes, her actions dictate my feelings towards her. She is a bully and an absolute arse on the court- which was what my hideous comment was based. So yea, it is easy for me not to like her.

But she is that good as a coach right???

She DID just blow a 17 point lead to an unranked team in March, costing her team a #1 seed. Feels like an underachieve. Career yeah great coach. Bad last night tho.

One game doesn't make a career. I'm unimpressed by demonizing others who are good at winning.

Never said she wasn't, just can't stand her as a person. Just because you get paid a lot and are good at what you do doesn't give you a pass on being a jerk.

I think we use rivalry as an excuse to demonize. Which is to say give credit where credit is due but feel free to reserve judgment of character. I think she is an amazing coach and was glad to play both her and Coale prior to our exit to the SEC. They made our accomplishments that much better.

It's an insult to the integrity of Coach Coale to mention her in the same breath as that other woman.

I don't agree with your rivalry/demonize statement at all- but you are entitled to your opinion, like I'm entitled to mine.
I don't like Gino A at UConn either, he is well paid, has been even more successful than Mulkey- but he is still an egotistical arse- and while we played a few times, he really wasn't a rival.

You mentioned Coale, she is nothing like those other two, as she is nothing but class. She and Muffet the former coach from ND, the former coach from Stanford, Staley at South Carolina, Pat Summit, and others found a way to be very competitive and be very successful - while still being respectful and professional.

I must do not believe success and money makes it okay to be a jerk- no matter what field of endeavor you are I in- and trust me, I saw this type of behavior in my career field. If you do, I'm fine with that, I guess we were just raised differently- which is fine. I respect your right to have your own opinion and view of the world.

I don't have a dog in this fight but it appears as if being a clown on the sidelines is on brand for her. But, having said that, if we had hired her and she was winning for us, I guarantee we would all be supportive of her antics. It's just optics. She is a fantastic coach and has done well everywhere she's been.

Btw, I agree about Geno. Damn. He's such a whiny baby as time rolls on.

i wholesomely reject your characterizations of me avd my parents. You don't know Kim at all but you are willing to believe the worst about her. That's an opinion.

All I know is what she has exhibited on the court, in interviews, etc.- same with Geno. Also the same with Coale, Staley, Muffet, etc.
But you are right, I do not know any of them personally, I can only form an opinion based on what they show/have shown every week on tv, on the radio , in the press, etc.

Just for the record I think KM is an incredible recruiter and motivator--her record reflects this. She also has the emotional intelligence of a 12 year old during games as evidenced by her immature antics. It is almost like she is playing a role during games because it works for her. I have no idea what she does outside of the court but the behavior she models during games is atrocious IMO. I also know she has kids and grandkids and I am sure her off the court persona is probably entirely different.

Yeah she may be a decent person when she isn't competing but throwing tantrums even when it's a good call that doesn't go her way isn't a good look. The late charge was a good call.

Staley??? Really? She looks for racism wherever she can find it. I don't care at all for activist coaches.

Glad we have Joni! She exudes classiness in all she does.
Hard for me to imagine a hs bb player who would not love to play for Joni.
No hissy fits on the sidelines. No racial overtones and antics in her words and behavior.
Joni is smart and articulate. She represents TAMU very well in all her actions!

I wasn't offended.

In fact, it permitted me to make a point I felt needed to be made. I don't know Kim either as a person except through her whole body of work. She is a competitor since her college days when she helped lead her school to a AIAW in 1981 and the inaugural NCAA title in 1982 after four-straight state high school championships at Hammond High School and earning valedictorian honors. She played under assistant coach Gary Blair as point guard so if you see some of our ferocious pgs in her there might be a reason why if not also in her pgs for that matter. She also was on staff at her alma mater with Gary in 1985.

Her antics are a result of her passion. I've never met a great player with multiple championships who was acting. They're just good and that translates frequently to their energy as coaches, too. I like coaches who were floor generals, in fact.

I grow weary of your fascination with her and of your covering your passive aggressiveness with a winky face. But that's just me.

There are plenty of passionate coaches who do not have to have their fans kiss the ring. Did you see her introduction at Reed this year????? Also, Pat was/is my ideal. She was plenty passionate, but she never flashed her bra on national television. (and those videos were saved before Baylor scrubbed them)

I disagree.

And winky faces aren't passive aggressive. They're sarcasm, irony, or sometimes a winy is just a winky and cigar is just a cigar…

Why try to correct me. She is a better coach on the floor and better recruiter than Blair. And I defended Blair, too.

Virtue signaling about not having people present opposing views (to your echo chamber) is totalitarian. But luckily it's okay to do that.
