awesome, gotta admit, the 3x3 was one of the things I enjoyed the most in the Olympics.

would be nice if they could figure a way to get this as ncaa sport and use existing players. But i'm sure the coaches wouldn't like that.

On Sunday, Aug. 15, the USA will meet Slovakia (2-0), the No. 1 seed from Pool D, in the quarterfinals at 10:25 a.m. (all times listed are EDT).
The three other quarterfinals feature: Germany (2-0) versus Spain (1-1); Canada against Poland (1-1); and Netherlands (2-0) taking on Hungary (1-1).
The quarterfinal winners will play in the semifinals, which are set for 11:50 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. on Aug. 15, and the title game is set for 1 p.m.
Against Canada in the USA's 12-10 loss to start the day, the contest featured five tied scores in the first 3:05. A basket from Blake Dietrick (Princeton/Wellesley, Mass), knotted the score at 6-6 at 6:55, but from there the USA went cold. Not scoring for 4:49, the USA gave up three points to Canada during that stretch and trailed 9-6 at 3:18.
Breanna Richardson (Mississippi State/Conyers, Ga.) scored at 2:06 and N'dea Jones (Texas A&M/Lawrenceville, Ga.) at 1:01 to make it 9-8, but Canada scored twice to go back up 11-8. Richardson made a 2-pointer that brought the USA within one point, 11-10, at 26.0 seconds, but Canada added the final point as time ran out.
Dietrick, Jones and Richardson each scored three points.
When the USA played host Romania in its second game, a quarterfinal berth was on the line for the winning team, and the USA came out on top, 15-9. The USA held Romania scoreless for the first 3:59 while it jumped out to a 6-0 lead, including four points from Jordan Reynolds (Tennessee/Portland, Ore.).
Several times Romania cut the gap to two points, including 7-5 at 4:01 and 10-8 at 1:31, but the USA responded each time. Up 10-8, the U.S. defense gave up just one more point while Dietrick scored a 1, Richardson hit a 2 and Jones made a free throw to secure the 15-9 victory.
Richardson had seven points, and Jones and Reynolds each had four points.

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas Former Texas A&M women's basketball All-American N'dea Jones signed a contract with Russian professional team WBC Enisey on Monday.

The Krasnoyarsk-based club has a direct placement in the 2020-21 EuroCup Women regular season. The team went 6-4 in last year's EuroCup. Enisey will compete in Conference I and is one of 48 teams competing for the championship.

Jones is fresh off an appearance in Constanta, Russia, representing Team USA at the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series. The Aggie helped lead her team to the semifinals before falling to Germany, 15-14.

The Lawrenceville, Georgia, native was selected 23rd overall in the 2021 WNBA Draft by the Seattle Storm this summer. The Aggie is A&M's all-time leader in rebounds (1,056) and double-doubles (42). She helped lead the Maroon & White to their first-ever Southeastern Conference regular season title during the 2020-21 season and played in three-straight Sweet 16s.

Jones follows Aaliyah Wilson who signed a contract with ACS Sepsi-SIC last week. Qualifiers for the 2021-22 EuroCup regular season are set to begin Sept. 20-24.

(From USA Basketball/Photo by FIBA) -- LVFL Jordan Reynolds and the USA women (2-2) nearly completed a comeback against eventual champion Germany (5-0) but ran out of time in a 15-14 semifinal loss at the 2021 FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Constanta stop on Sunday in Romania.

Germany went on to beat Netherlands (4-1) 13-12 for the tournament title.

In the semifinal, neither team led by more than two points in the game's early going. With Germany ahead 6-4 at 7:42, N'dea Jones (Texas A&M/Lawrenceville, Ga.) scored a jumper to make it 6-5, but Germany answered with a bucket that ignited a 9-4 run to put the Europeans up 14-9 with 2:54 remaining.

The USA rallied with two points from Breanna Richardson (Mississippi State/Conyers, Ga.) and two more from Jones to cut the margin to one, 14-13, with 35 seconds to play. Germany made a free throw at 26.2, and Richardson made a layup at 13.0 seconds to make it 15-14. Richardson blocked Germany's final attempt, but the USA could not get a shot off as the 10-minute game clock expired.

Richardson finished the game with eight points and eight rebounds, and Jones had five points.

In its quarterfinal match-up with previously unbeaten Slovakia (2-1), the USA led most of the way, but Slovakia was a threat throughout. At the first timeout at 6:56, the USA was leading 3-1. Slovakia scored out of the break, but the USA pushed its lead to 5-2. Slovakia tied the game 5-5, but Reynolds (Tennessee/Portland, Ore.) scored from inside and outside the arc to restore the USA's three-point cushion, 8-5. Slovakia scored just once more, and the USA went on to earn the 11-6 win.

Jones had six points and 10 rebounds, Reynolds finished with three points and five boards and Blake Dietrick (Princeton/Wellesley, Mass.) contributed five rebounds and one point. Six of Richardson's eight rebounds came on the offensive end as the USA out-rebounded Slovakia 29-17, with 15 offensive rebounds.

The USA will compete in the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Montreal stop on Sept. 3-4.

In addition to competing in Constanta, the USA also won the Klaipeda stop that was played July 30-31 in Klaipeda, Lithuania. LVFL Cierra Burdick was part of that squad.

The host nation of Romania and the top seven teams in the season standings will earn an invitation to the 2021 FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Final, which will be played on Sept. 18-19 in Bucharest.
