COLLEGE STATION- No. 22 Texas A&M fell 92-64 to No. 5 Mississippi State in a women's basketball game at Reed Arena.

Texas A&M (19-6, 8-4 SEC) stormed out of the gates, as Chennedy Carter had 16 of her 28 points in the first quarter, jumping out to a 24-20 lead after a frame. Mississippi State only led 43-36 at halftime, but extended their lead by making their first four 3-pointers in the second half.

In addition to Carter, who had 20+ points for the seventh time in the last eight games, Kayla Wellls added 13 and Shambria Washington chipped in 10. Carter tied a Texas A&M record with her 32nd consecutive game of scoring 10+ points.

Why was Gary Blair passing out candy in the second half instead of coaching? Now that is throwing in the towel!

embarrassing beat down...never in the game after 1st qtr.
we had the best player, and MSU had the next best 5 players...all could score and they run a balanced offense,
GB's tech was way too little way too late. Carter's last tech was from a tired, frustrated player who the refs allow the defenders to get away with a lot of uncalled fouls..

minor disagreement. I don't think we were completely out of it at halftime down 7. We opened the 3rd with Kayla's fast break layup to cut it to 5 with an and one chance to cut it to 4. She missed the FT, which is rare for her. We got a stop on their next possession but couldn't score on our end. It was still only down 7 at 7:42 of the third. By 6:01 in the third we were down 13.

edit to add: how can you say they didn't call fouls? They clearly called N'dea fouling McCowan's arm with her face while McCowan was pulling Jones down.

That clip was from before the game, it wasnt a live shot. You should probably pay attention before putting out fake outrage.

A better question is how one doesn't already know Blair does that before games and not during unless one doesn't pay attention to our games.

I've not made it to Reed for a game and knew that over a decade ago...

The spanking is not a surprise. Our team is largely a one-trick pony, and MSU is a complete group with a better coach. Take the beating and move on.
