Texas A&M (2-0) has started fast in each of their first two games, opening the Rice game on November 7 with a 13-1 run, and the Jacksonville game Sunday with a 15-4 run. In the Jacksonville game, Ciera Johnson and N'dea Jones each posted their first career double-doubles.
Syracuse (1-1) enters the game coming off of a 75-73 loss to No. 3 Oregon, as the Ducks stormed back from a six-point deficit in the last two minutes to win the game. Tiana Mangakahia, an All-ACC selection a year ago, leads the Orange with 13.0 points per game.
This is the third matchup between the schools since 2013-14, with each side posting an upset win of at least 15 points over the other. In 2013, the Orange knocked off No. 12 Texas A&M 78-63 in the U.S Virgin Islands. Three seasons later, the Aggies routed No. 16 Syracuse, who was coming off an appearance in the national championship game, 105-84 in Orlando, Fla.
