BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Chennedy Carter was selected to the 2019 All-SEC Women's Basketball Preseason team in a voting of a select panel of both SEC and national media members. Carter also garnered votes for the Preseason Player of the Year.

Carter was the unanimous National Freshman of the Year in 2017-18, averaging 22.7 points per game, the most among the nation's freshmen. She earned First Team All-SEC honors, in addition to SEC Freshman of the Year and was named to the All-SEC Tournament Team. Carter averaged 31.3 points in the NCAA Tournament, the fourth-most in the history of the competition.

As a team, the Aggies were picked to finish sixth in the SEC. Last season, Texas A&M tied for fourth in the SEC standings with an 11-5 record, then advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament. The Aggies finished 26-10 overall and made the program's seventh appearance in the Sweet 16 in 2017-18.
