COLLEGE STATION, Texas Two lucky students will have their official Aggie Ring paid for, when Texas A&M's basketball programs host the Maroon Madness Tip-Off as part of the season-opening doubleheader November 7. The women host Rice at 6 p.m. followed by the men's game against Savannah State at 8:30 p.m.

The doubleheader features numerous prizes, giveaways and fan experiences. In addition to two students being drawn at random to have their official Aggie Ring purchased by Texas A&M Athletics, fans can win prizes such as free haircuts for a year from Sport Clips, free Whataburger for a year, a warm cookie delivery by Tiff's Treats or the opportunity to shoot from half-court for a $10,000 prize, presented by Mountain Dew.

In addition, a pregame lounge area is available to students, outside the north entrance of Reed Arena, starting at 5 p.m. The lounge includes free food from Rudy's BBQ, drinks provided by Pepsi, and an entertainment corner with televisions, video games and more. In the lounge, students can enter to win a trip with the men's or women's basketball team for an upcoming road game.

An event for fans of all ages, Kids Court is open in the women's basketball practice gym from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. featuring inflatables, face painting, animal balloons, a photo booth, and basketball shooting fun. The Kids Court re-opens before the men's game at 7:30 p.m. and closes at tip-off.

Fans also have an opportunity to take a picture with the First Lady of Aggieland, Reveille, on the Reed Arena concourse behind section 121 prior to each game.

Fans are advised that parking costs $5 for all doubleheader gamedays but a men's basketball season parking pass allows entry to the parking lots for all games. Fans are encouraged to stay for both games with their purchased ticket, which serves as a general admission ticket to the non-purchased game.

I wonder what led to the switch up. I thought Maroon Madness was an opportunity for fans to meet players and coaches from both teams. Maybe they'll still get to do this after the game.
