Noon start on a Sunday.

SEC network.

Another team whose back is against the wall by virtue of being winless so far in the SEC. Like Arkansas, Florida has losses to Miss State and LSU. They also played S. Carolina already. Where Arkansas had Jessica Jackson as the primary threat, Florida has Ronni Williams, who has been trading the SEC scoring lead with Danni, even though she does all of her scoring so far inside the 3 point line.

To my eyeballs, Florida has been a better coached team under Butler than Arkansas under Dykes but she does seem to have a problem keeping her stars from quitting the team. But that may be because she's had to take some risks to get talent to come to Gainesville. Butler was (mostly justifiably) painted as the bad guy when Sydney Moss left the team a few years ago. But ironically, Moss got the school she went to into NCAA trouble. From November:
Quote:

Thomas More college opened its women's basketball season Tuesday with a win over Centre College, but it did so under probation. Earlier in the day, the NCAA had ordered Thomas More College to forfeit one of its two consecutive national women's basketball championships.

The NCAA found that Sydney Moss, Thomas More's three-time Division III Player of the Year, was ineliglble during the 2014-15 season, the college announced Tuesday.
Florida averages 15.9 assists/game vs 14.4 for the Hogs, but the departed Christinaki was second on the team in A/g at 3. Florida currently leads the SEC in turnovers per game.

This is the next test to see if the team can be more consistent and avoid another Georgia-like start. It would be nice to continue to win these games against the struggling SEC teams before we have to go to Starkville at the end of the month.

It's still an SEC road game. In case you missed it, the Lady Vols got a reminder on Thursday of what SEC WBB is like when they went to Ole Miss and lost.

30-26 Gators 7:16 in the second.

Gators zone has extended since the start of the game and they are getting open looks in the lane for short jumpers. Ronni Williams playing well.

36-35 Gators at half. Ags tuning it over too much but only down 1.

67-59 Ags win.

Solid performance in the second half with some things to work on. Ags ultimately ground down the Gators.

After a rough first 15 minutes the team played pretty good. Is that the first time Curtyce had more turnovers than assists? Kudos to Taylor for really playing her role with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. They didn't even try to foul near the end because they know we will make the free throws.

I agree with Coach...3-4 of the turnovers charged to Tyce were not bad passes....just not handled by
the player receiving the pass.
