Texas A&M Women's basketball gets back on track by beating TCU in Fort Worth

The Texas A&M women's basketball team defeated the TCU Horned Frogs by a score of 75-67 on Thursday night. The win ended a two game slump for the Ags and moved them to 6-2 overall.

All in all, the Aggies and Horned Frogs played a pretty evenly matched game. both teams shot just over 35% from the field with TCU only taking six more shots on the night. The second quarter was good to the Aggies as they outscored the Horned Frogs 20-11, but the the other quarters were each decided by only one point.

Free throw shooting and rebounding proved to be difference makers in this game. The Ags shot ten more free throws than TCU, going 24-28 to shoot 85.7% from the line. TCU however went 12-18 from the line to shoot just over 66%.

The Aggies had three players in double figures for points as Danni Williams led the with 19 points. Khaalia Hillsman added 17 points while Curtyce Knox put up 16 in the win. Jasmine Lumpkin contributed nine points on the evening, Anriel Howard put up eight points, and Taylor Cooper added six points, all coming from beyond the arc.

A&M continued to rebound the basketball well as they won the rebounding battle 47-38, with 17 of those coming on the offensive glass. Hillsman also notched a double-double on thee evening, adding 14 rebounds, while Howard also put up 11 rebounds to come two points shy of her own double-double.

The Aggies will return to the friendly confines of Reed Arena as they take on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi December 10th at 2:00 p.m.
