Tell us more about where you got this address from. 3HWEB61cRUZGMH1ohKhZLCXpcc6BNvGVmz Did you copy it from a prior transaction on Bovada?

I believe you said you used the same address before from a couple years ago to transfer to the wallet on your phone, and it worked successfully? Is that correct?

Below is the app that had BTC, Etherum, etc etc wallets that I used for this transaction. I copied it from that wallet. I thought I used it a couple years ago for a withdrawal, but maybe not. But that address came specifically from the BTC wallet within the app...had that address, a QR code, and the 24 word phrase linked to it

Now that I am signed out, I can't even get back into the app because of the weird error message and no customer support.

But whether I used this particular wallet in the past or not, the address posted above is only tied to this wallet. I get the feeling the app I am using is defunct or something, as I was unable to find it on the app store when I tried to see if it just needed an update.

Sorry to keep spamming the board with this...it's pretty embarrassing. But $1,000 is hard for me to give up on. Plus wife not too happy with me

I believe so. Luckily, their customer support is finally responsive and trying to help, but so far it is "please try downloading Trust wallet app and importing funds using your 24 word phrase" with no dice. Once I explained that didn't work, they asked for screenshots showing that the account is mine, so I still have SOME hope. That thread is not encouraging though.

The safest way to manage this going forward is to get a Ledger/Trezor hardware device and get a new seed phrase. Generate your public addresses from their app.

I'm partial to Ledger for beginners but Trezor is fine too. Coldcard is what I use but it's not as user friendly, though arguably more secure, and I wouldn't recommend that device until you're very comfortable with Bitcoin.

I will never use Crypto again after this. Even if I somehow manage to ever get my money back. I think it is mostly geared towards tech savvy people who view it as a hobby and are willing to devote significant amounts of time getting trained up on it. Money should be VERY simple and intuitive. The vast majority of our population (me included) are just too dumb or unsophisticated for this and are chum in the water for lurking sharks.

I have nothing against crypto itself, or people who use it, it is just not meant for the vast majority...way too complex/advanced.

EDIT: You are saying that using Ledger/Trezor going fwd would help avoid these types of situations, not that using it and generating a new seed phrase will help me in any way to get this $1,000 back right?

If you lose your account info at the local bank, it should be simple to visit the bank and get access to your money.

If you lose your info for crypto, you lost your money.

Agree with this. We can barely keep people from giving their money to nigerians.

One of my teams manages an online auto-pay program for a subset of our customers, who are business owners themselves (25k small business owners). This auto-pay program could not be more simple and intuitive. It's crazy how simple it is, and on top of that, we double down with a "How To/FAQ" on the site. But you could not imagine the litany of dumbass questions and calls we get every single day. And these are successful people that own businesses.

It kind of deflated my faith in humanity lol and confirmed that no way will the general public ever be capable of operating in a bitcoin heavy world.

OP don't apologize, I'm following this thread as I am in a similar situation.
I have funds in my Ignition (similar to Bovada) account that I haven't withdrawn because I am not sure of the 'crypto' either.

I have a sizable balance in Bovada too. Is crypto the ONLY way to withdraw funds? If so, I am screwed. I have zero crypto accounts, no bitcoin and am utterly clueless in all of this.

No, if over $1,500, you can withdraw via wire for free I believe. I just had $1,300, and withdrew $1,000. I believe There was an option to wire for like a 10% fee or something...which I scoffed at, but in hindsight wish I had chosen.

Honestly, I think it is pretty easy and safe if you set up a new wallet. I just made the mistake iof using an old one I had used in the past and I am guessing it's a defunct app or platform. I don't think I will ever understand how my money is on the blockchain but not tied to my wallet or phrase though

I seem to have pulled off the impossible. Just glad it wasn't more $$$ lost. Customer service is clueless as to how to help me.

When your wife is giving you a hard time about this, share this with her:
