I'd like to see this as a poll.

So hopefully those at 0.0% continue to chime in. In hindsight I should have said Poll in the title

10%. Could be 25% in the coming month just as easily as 0%. Depends on if support or resistance is broken for BTC
"H-A: In return for the flattery, can you reduce the size of your signature? It's the only part of your posts that don't add value. In its' place, just put "I'm an investing savant, and make no apologies for it", as oldarmy1 would do."

11. Would like to move that to 20 but probably won't as FBTC is just rising pretty steadily the rest of this year, imho.

I believe there are quite a few potentially misinformed 0.0% posters on this thread. As COIN is a member of the S&P500, you at least have some crypto exposure if you hold an S&P500 index fund (or other broad market index fund). Also, many large companies hold crypto as an investment, so you undoubtedly have some indirect exposure there, as well.

I probably have 1-3% of my portfolio allocated to crypto or crypto services. The only actual crypto I hold is a free $10 worth given to me by Venmo several years ago (it's now worth $15.34).

I…don't believe COIN is in the s&p 500 (503)

You are correct - google failed me (or my own quick cursory glance at the search results, which said it's "used as a benchmark for the S&P", not is IN the S&P).

I'm at 1.4%

this is not the appropriate question-

because if you originally bought Bitcoin at $10,000 and now it is $70,000- then it is a much larger percentage of your portfolio today versus when you first purchased.

the real question should be "what percentage of your overall portfolio did you INITIALLY invest in crypto"

This is entirely wrong, on the face of it.

First, study the concept of sunk cost. Then realize that you are making a decision every day to either buy, hold, or sell on every component of your portfolio. If you hold, you are stating that you cannot put the capital to better use elsewhere. WHAT YOU PAID INITIALLY has no bearing on your daily decisions whatsoever. The only reason to consider cost basis at all is to determine your best course of action for tax purposes. Since the initial question relates to current portfolio mix, it does not refer to tax impact, and your entire argument makes no sense.

Hope that helps.

Just cashed in, so 0%. I was previously as .002%. I'm a believer in other markets, but not this one because I don't understand it. There are way too many intricacies. Next time I jump in will be after some Sam Bankman Freid type takes down an exchange or something similar to artificially tank the crypto-market.
