I don't usually pay attention in detail to the mileage tracker on united. I will see one entry for a trip and will think the whole trip got accounted for. I recently realized that any leg of the trip taken on a partner airline (copa, eg), did not get credited. Easy DIY process to fix….got 4 flights going back to july last year credited this am.

Passing along in case it can help someone.

I quit flying on United (or any other Star Alliance flights) several years ago after United refused to give credit for a Turkish Airlines flight. I had specifically double checked the fare class before booking. United gave some bogus reason about Turkish Airlines using that particular fare code as their default.

I was working overseas at the time and needed the activity to keep my miles active. That was the final straw for me.

Been much happier since switching to Delta (and SkyTeam).
