Are any folks still believing and pushing Solana?

Recent rug pulls even after being vetted and now this -
Solana suffered from network overload due to bots spamming the network again this weekend.
The congestion prevented DeFi users from adjusting their collateralized positions as prices crashed, resulting in widespread liquidations.
Solana has faced similar issues on multiple occasions in recent months. It's aiming to resolve the issues in its new releases.

I hope folks here weren't affected.

Extremely curious as to why someone still believes in Sol...please explain. I kept hearing superior tech but that has been proven not to be true.

To be fair the NFT was vetted by a 3rd party. I still hold SOL as a hedge against ETH. I took about 30% of my intial investment, so i am fine letting the rest ride. Hopefully SOL will come up with a solution for their congestion issue soon.

I got out incrementally between $160-200. The two big crashes in the fall did it for me.

Edit: Worth noting that I'm 100% BTC right now. I got out of ADA in Sept and DOT, KSM, LUNA at various points in Q4.

Thanks for responding folks. I have kept a few family members away but got asked about current prices as an entry level. As if my aversion to Sol was based on the price. I read articles on it when they pop up but didn't have anything new.

Uniswap, pancakeswap, or sushi swap. These services are easy to use but you need a bit more knowledge to not screw up using them. Once you figure them out though, a lot more options for investing open up.

I've been doing the whole "buy the dip" thing pretty regularly since Thanksgiving. I can only do that so many times in a row before I have to draw a line somewhere. I drew that line on Friday. That was my last "buy the dip" other than my weekly DCA until this thing turns around.

And there's no way in hell I'm ever buying on margin. I only invest what I am able to lose, no matter how much it would suck.

In the USA, yes. You're taxed on the gain/loss from when you bought it to when you spent it.

I started experimenting with mining over the holiday break on two computers using unmineable software which had a pretty low learning curve. You can technically mine with CPU earning a few cents worth a day, but even modest GPUs jump that up to 30-40 cents a day and beyond. RavenCoin is one of the 3-4 coins I've mined over the past few months. Not sure this is the best approach, but a pretty easy on ramp and will see where it goes from here.

What is your setup?

The best thing you can do for yourself here is to take a couple of hours and ingest as much info / burn through some guides on the web.
Start with the Ravencoin documentation and it should have a good starting point for you.

Then look at some profitability calculators to see break evens on your coin/gpu setup to determine if it will be worth it in your opinion.
