Hello everyone,

I have been on Billy's board for football for many years, but I have never looked at all of the other boards. I have been in crypto for many years -- many different projects.

I am a big fan of the Celsius Network. I hold many of my coins there, and it has given me an excellent return paid out every Monday.

$LITH showed some resilience over night and bounced back this am. Also some major news:

"Just hired Jen Wenk for the PR rollout incoming. Jen built Dana White's image at UFC. He's doing pretty well.

Welcome to the best position in crypto.

Mike Pine is also leading their marketing.

Good piece on blockchain bridges by Harmony One CEO. When more people understand this ONE will explode like Matic did.

Agreed. I've enjoyed my Fold card, but now that the rewards have tapered off I am ready to give the BlockFi card a shot.
Comeby!

Is this just another play on cash back credit cards? 1-2%?
Saw an ad in the Arizona airport.

Yes, instead of points they put bitcoin in your account. BlockFi is the first company to get their credit card into the market that pays rewards in bitcoin. Fold got out with a prepaid card in November last year and there have been some other companies that pay out in other crypto.

I've had a crypto-back debit card for a few months but you have to pay in crypto to get that coin back... Meaning I've already eaten all the fees to get a coin balance, it makes no sense to then spend it just for 1% back, or get 1% USD which many cards beat easily nowadays.

The good stuff is making your daily USD purchases become crypto rewards.

Agreed. I am hoping BlockFi keeps 1 no fee withdraw per month from your bitcoin account there with this program. The way I read it, the bitcoin back goes to your interest account so you can get whatever APY they currently have and then move your bitcoin to cold storage monthly if you want.

I know there are some Harmony ONE fans on here. What's causing that coin to increase more than 30% over the last 24 hours? Goodness!

I've become pretty bearish on cryptocurrency as an investment at this point. I think the governmental regulation that is headed our way will tamp much of this down. Obviously, day trading it purely based on price speculation can net you some money, but I don't really do that.

I'm going to hold what I have but have stopped my recurring, monthly investment in it.

Probably a combo of road map goals and partnerships. I wouldn't doubt the bump is also due to all the talk about bridges and interoperability in which they will probably be superior.

Latins response is a possibility.
The only honest answer is that no one fking knows for sure why it's pumping. It may be back at .05 tomorrow or it may continue to it's previous ATH.

That would be my answer if you replaced ONE with any other coin as well.

Edit: Unlike YouBet, I think the industry still has a lot of potential and I'll keep DCA in regardless of where the price is on a given day.

I probably don't need to make this distinction with folks on this thread, but I'm bullish on blockchain. It will innovate many things.

I'm bearish on private cryptocurrencies functioning as a currency and an investment. It's pure pricing speculation at this point.

Edit to further distinguish which crypto currencies.

There is no blockchain without crypto. Forget about it being a replacement for the US dollar for a second... Think of it as a worldwide computer system or "internet". Then you have multiple layers of applications all riding on top of that base infrastructure. Whatever is happening on that blockchain would still require the use of a crypto token. The utility of that token is an investment because increased adoption of that application means more people need to use that token. Fixed supply + higher demand = higher price.

Well, that isn't entirely true though. Tokens were originally financial incentives to entice people to move things along. Not all blockchain require tokens and as things evolve you might see some standards take root that don't need it. For example, corporations are exploring their own private blockchains and who is to say they don't collude and come up with a standard that the "private sector" ultimately adopts.

So, you will have CDBCs come online that snuff out the 8k+ cryptos out there leading us to ultimately coalesce around far fewer standards than exist now. In parallel, you could potentially see a non-CDBC standard win out in the "private sector" that doesn't require tokens to operate. This would also have the added benefit of helping CDBCs because token-less blockchains reduce the incentive to compete with official government crypto.

My point is that right now in 2021 this is all still pricing speculation so the price is totally arbitrary and massively volatile based on speculation and emotional whims. It remains to be seen which standard(s) win and become true investment grade assets, if any.

I just bought my first crypto! 1 ethereum on venmo. I assume the fees are lower on other platforms? I already have a venmo account though and am generally app-averse so i decided to just do it.

Yeah i actually got like 1.0026 ether. i just wanted to buy a whole one of something rather than .05 btc

I read about the Sotheby's auction this week for a 102ct diamond where the winner paid with ether and decided to finally buy some (i got a kraken account like 4 years ago and couldn't get verified and it felt scammy so i gave up)

Yeah, I hear that a lot from newbies.

I "bought this cuz I could buy a WHOLE one," as if it is a relevant data point. It is not, and I'd ask to try to move past that roadblock asap.

Sorry if I sound rude, I don't mean to be. It's just an unfortunate rite of passage I'd like to prevent others from having to take.
