I keep waiting for some type of consolidation in the energy sector.....crickets chirping right now. How in the world is OXY still standing?

My IRA is outperforming the S&P 500 by a couple percentage points. This surprises me, as it's invested much more conservatively than the other accounts. I usually track it against a blended portfolio, not the S&P. Of course, AMZN has helped, being my largest holding in that account.

My main after-tax investment account is lagging by a little over a point. I've mainly been buying bluer chips and staples lately, here.

These two similarly sized accounts make up 90%+ of my investments.


My fun account (I label it Hedging & Speculation) is up 188.7% year-to-date. Almost all is option trading, but now is over 60% short positions (buying puts, mostly). Good timing and lucky timing, mostly, with a dose of knowing when to take money off the table.
