From article:

Researchers from the Strada Institute for the Future of Work and labor market analytics firm Emsi recently analyzed over 36 million resumes and found that liberal arts graduates have significant advantages in the labor market of tomorrow. Specifically, they found that the skills traditionally associated with liberal arts programs such as critical thinking, communication and creativity are among the most in-demand by employers, and that graduates of liberal arts institutions show the fastest wage growth in their 30s and 40s.

Correlation and causation not the same thing

The old, elite colleges still have very large LA classes and much less vocational classes. A lot for these really successful students (1) pair it with a technical or vocation oriented graduate degree such as MD, JD or MBA and (2) a lot of those kids inherit much wealth, connections and powerful social networks.

It's not the LA degree or training that lead to the results

Mother effin bingo.

You can't get a "business" degree at many elite colleges. You get an undergrad in economics then use daddy's money and connections to get you into wharton.

The rest of us started at high salaries or didn't have to wait 15 years into our career to experience significant wage growth.

Total enrollment: > 67,580

That's way to many students at A&M IMO.

Agreed. Plus, the kids that get into the old elite colleges worked really hard to get accepted. That same work ethic also translates later in life as well.

I went to an elite grad school and the Day 1 "welcome speech" the Dean came out and said (paraphrased) :

"100% of the financial value you'll receive from ______ has been realized by the fact that you are sitting here today. What we hope to accomplish from here is provide you with dynamic, engaging set of opportunities to self direct your learning and add value above that. It will be what you make it."
