As a side to the post below on occupation and salary- what is the best benefit to your job?

Vacation policy?
401k and match, or even a pension?
Health benefits?
Work remote or short commute?

If I'm not traveling I don't have to put pants on for work...

In order of value to me

240 hours vacation
Short commute (15-20 min each way)
Pension (although this value would drop if I change jobs)
Annual bonus (I know this is common among posters here, but it's a first for me)
Reduced cost health insurance + HSA + $1000 employer contribution to HSA (premiums used to be completely free, but I now have to pay a small charge for my dependent)
401k (this is last on my list, only because the company match is good but not great)

for us i suppose it's flexible working policy (work from home when you need to, do what you need to do as long as your work gets done). annual bonus is pretty good too. our 401k match isn't great until you get a few levels up the food chain. benefits are good but expensive.

- Work from home 100%
- $3500/year company contribution to HSA coupled with reasonable deductibles and reasonable monthly premium.

I'm allowed to have an HSA.

We don't have a lot of benefits here....

ESOP contribution from company ~15-20% of salary
Profit sharing from company 6% of salary
Can still access 401k, no match though.

Profit sharing for sure. If I stay here another 20-22 years (about when I want to retire), it will be roughly ~$2m. I don't have to do anything; they contribute 100% of it (15% of salary). Combine that with wife's state pension, and I really don't get concerned over retirement much at all anymore.

Bonus is nice too, usually about a month's pay.

Company car. Just got a new F-150. Not fully loaded, but still really nice to have.
